Installing PROKON

You can install PROKON on a stand-alone computer or on a network for sharing between multiple users. This section describes how to install PROKON on a standalone computer and how to manage your license:

Copying the program files to your computer

Depending on your system settings the PROKON Setup application will auto-run automatically when you insert the PROKON DVD-ROM. If it does not, explore the DVD-ROM contents and launch the Setup program manually.

Note: If the Setup program appears to freeze while copy program files, it may be because of your anti-virus software scanning the program files. For a faster installation, we recommend you temporarily disable your anti-virus software.

Follow the prompts to copy the program files to your computer:

Note: If installing PROKON in location other than the default 'C:\Prokon', you may need to take additional steps to grant your Windows user full read and write privileges to that folder. The steps are similar to setting folder permissions for a network installation.

Activating your license

Open License Manager, log in and start using your license.

If you are using a local license, you need to activate the license before you can use it.

Deactivating your license

License Manager automatically takes care of licenses. To stop using a license on your workstation, simply exist all PROKON programs. log in and start using your license. More information:
